Founder & Data Scientist
Tony McGovern
Tony McGovern is a multifaceted data scientist who describes himself as "Hacker. Artist. Storyteller. Data lover." As the Founder and Data Scientist at em·data, Inc., Tony transforms complex data into actionable intelligence across finance, banking, digital marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain logistics.
With over two decades in the field, Tony specializes in creating custom data products and visualization solutions using R, D3.js, Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server, and Azure. His approach combines rigorous analytical methods with compelling visual storytelling, allowing organizations to make more informed decisions.
Previously, Tony applied his expertise as a Data Scientist at NBCUniversal, where he built data applications that helped understand box office performance for Universal Studio titles. As Principal Consultant at BRMi, he founded the BRMi Visualization Studio, fostering collaborative data visualization development.
His career includes significant work with government agencies and financial institutions, including modeling a $160B government loan portfolio for the USDA and monitoring over $425B in TARP obligations for the US Treasury.
Tony brings a unique blend of technical prowess and creative vision to data science, tackling challenges others avoid while transforming raw information into meaningful insights that drive business value.

Ashleigh McGovern
Ashleigh McGovern is a Senior Vice President at Conservation International, where she brings over 14 years of leadership experience in environmental conservation. As an accomplished executive, Ashleigh has distinguished herself through her ability to build high-performing teams, foster innovation, and create impactful multi-institutional partnerships focused on nature-based solutions to global challenges.
At Conservation International, Ashleigh has held several leadership positions, including co-leading the Center for Oceans and serving as Vice President of Innovation and Development. Her most notable achievement includes her instrumental role in creating and leading the Blue Nature Alliance—an ambitious global partnership working to double the world's marine protected areas by 2025. As Lead for Philanthropy, Partnerships, and Communications at the Alliance, she mobilized resources and stakeholder support for large-scale ocean conservation initiatives.
Ashleigh's approach combines strategic vision with practical implementation, enabling her teams to identify opportunities, secure resources, and deliver measurable conservation outcomes. She believes that meaningful partnerships are built on empathy, shared values, and a clear sense of purpose—principles that guide her leadership style and collaborative approach.
Beyond her conservation work, Ashleigh brings diverse experience from her role as Founder and Design Strategist at em·data, Inc. and her earlier career in arts management, where she served as Director of Strategic Planning and Advancement at the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and as an Executive Orchestra Fellow with the League of American Orchestras.
